ICF Options
Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs) are designed as pre-molded interlocking blocks. Typically, ICFs have 2.5+ inches of polystyrene (styrofoam) on each side. The size of the inner core is selected from 4-, 6-, 8-, 10-, and 12-inches wide. Within the core are "webs" that are spaced either 6" or 8" on center, depending on the brand. The purpose of the webs is to act similarly to "studs" for finish materials, such as drywall, exterior stucco and siding. Overall, the outside measurements range from 9" to 17". Based on your project, Lancaster ICF Builders will make recommendations to best suit your needs.

Contrary to beliefs based on early ICF construction, ICF walls accommodate today's most popular design features, including high ceilings, large openings, long walls and even curved walls. However, construction is more convenient when a design is created by using favorable ICF measurements for wall heights, wall lengths and positions of doors and windows from the beginning of the planning stage.
